Ozanam House Cancer Patient Accommodation

... Patients receiving radiotherapy treatment for cancer at Palmerston North Hospital. Many are often treated as out-patients. Many of our cancer patients travel from throughout the low half of the North Island - from Gisborne to Taranaki. Ozanam House was established to provide a home cancer patients and their carer while in Palmerston North.

Unique In Concept

Unique in concept, Ozanam House has something in common with motels and hotels, but can best be compared with a residential club without staff. Housework and cooking as well as recreation, are often shared by mutual consent as guests come and go. This has led to a popular description of Ozanam House as "A home away from home".
